PILATES W/ FELDENKRAIS
Yoga has been a part of Nari’s life since her birth. Her father was a yoga student of Swami Muktananda, founder of the Siddha Yoga Ashram, Fitzroy, Melbourne and he asked Muktananda if he could gift her a name, Narayani… a Hindu deity with many heads who rides you on an illuminated chariot to the final, safe abode of all beings. Narayani resides in our hearts and is always willing to listen and guide us there.
After an early retirement, through injury, from a dance career Nari pursued her passion for yoga and took the step of becoming a qualified teachers through Friends in Yoga in 2001. And after moving to the Great Southern WA to raise her family, she was introduced to the Krishnmacharya lineage through her teacher Hamsa Warrener, Albany WA. As well as Geeta Iyengar and T.K.V. Desikachar.
Nari’s classes, workshops and individual consults endeavour to encapsulate Krishnmacharya teachings that use a traditional framework of Hatha; balanced physical practices of asana, pranayama and relaxation, Bhakti; devotional practices/chanting, and Raja; seeking truth through cultivating awareness/meditation, and with the approach of Yoga Cikitsa (Yoga Therapy) where each individual student is taken into account and catered for, Nari assists students to pacify, relax and tone the nervous system, then purify and cleanse. Allowing a convergence, an effective intercourse/dialogue of body, mind and heart.
